My Approach

In new and painful situations it’s easy to lose touch with our strengths and inner wisdom. As a consulting psychologist my goal is to reconnect you with your inner resources to make positive life choices during difficult times.

I approach my counselling from a Cognitive Behavioural Perspective; that is, I work towards identifying the beliefs and behaviours that may not be working for you to develop a more effective thinking style and successful strategies for relating to others.

I am interested in our ability to proactively change our brain’s neural pathways through learning, in our ability to forge new more positive neural networks that enhance life choices and promote “good thinking”.

Much of the work that clients do is between sessions as they reflect on new ideas and experiment with different behaviours. In this way my role is as guide and coach who can help you turn negative experiences into positive ones.
